Our Story

We are a community of ordinary people with a passion to see those who are suffering realize the hope of safe, clean water.

It Started with a Single Pump.

After the 2010 earthquake in Haiti, Founder Andy Pierce volunteered on a humanitarian project, which led to the long-term establishment of Project41.

What originated as an idea for a single bicycle-powered water pump for an orphanage in Haiti, has grown into a global effort, addressing the need for clean water around the world.

  • “Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world; indeed, it's the only thing that ever has.”

    Margaret Mead

Though Project41 was established through Andy and Patty Pierce, it continues because of our partnerships & individuals who have been generous with their time and their finances, enabling Project41 to impact the lives of some of the most vulnerable communities in our world.

Project41’s mission stems from a passage in the Bible, Isaiah 41:17-18.

“The children are no longer feeling sick and having diarrhea during the day, and are able to pursue their studies and work better!"

- Boni, Director of Kings and Queens Orphanage, Kenya.
