OUR STORY

What began with a simple “yes” has changed the course of our family’s life, and through God’s grace, the lives of thousands of children and families in some of the most under-resourced places on earth.

In 2010, after a devastating earthquake struck Haiti, my husband Andy traveled there to assist in rebuilding an orphanage that had collapsed, leaving 40 young girls without shelter. What he saw broke our hearts and forever changed our lives.

The children didn’t have any running water, and we knew we couldn’t turn away.

At the time, we had four kids in school, a house in foreclosure, and a plumbing business that was barely surviving the economic downturn. Yet, in the middle of all of that, we still felt a calling to do something. Andy came back from Haiti with a heavy heart for those children and an idea to make a difference.

Andy designed the RainMaker bicycle-powered water pump and the SafeTap Water Filtration System, simple but durable solutions created for the people and places that need it most. And in 2014, Project41 was born.

Over the years, we have never walked this road alone.

None of this would have been possible without you, our Project41 family. Your generosity and support over the years have carried this mission forward. Together, we’ve seen clean water bring not only health, but also dignity, opportunity, and hope.

Today, this journey has led us to Kenya, where we are committed for the long-haul. In some of Africa’s largest informal settlements, our SafeTap filters are bringing life-saving water to churches, schools, orphanages, and communities where the need is greatest.

By partnering with local leaders who know their communities best, we are working side by side to make sure safe water lasts.

From the bottom of my heart, thank you for walking this journey with us.

For those who are new to Project41, we humbly invite you to join us to help bring lasting change to children and families who need it most.

With gratitude,

Patty Pierce
Co-Founder of Project41

How It All Began

“Founder, Andy Pierce, shares the story of how he became an accidental philanthropist. His interest in water began early in his career as a plumber. He never imagined he'd be in this position today…”

Project41’s mission stems from a passage in the Bible, Isaiah 41:17-18.

“The children are no longer feeling sick during the day, and are able to pursue their studies and work better!"

- Boni, Director of Kings and Queens Orphanage, Kenya.
